Welcome to Horse Butt Productions, voted "Best Production Company Named After A Part Of A Horse" three years in a row by The Las Vegas World News.

Started in early 1627 by a man named Peter Minuit in New Amsterdamn, Horse Butt Productions has seen its fair share of changes. In the early 1800's, when the West was being settled, early frontiersmen brought with them stories of a company so well-regarded and respected that a Western chapter was established even before men with big beards started digging for gold. Eventually, due to budget constraints and things like "civil war" and "unrest", the Eastern chapter of Horse Butt Productions was shut down and California became the permanent home to the company.

In 1987, Horse Butt Productions' Board of Directors fired everyone involved and replaced them with the powerhouse team of Steve Guttenberg, Phil Donohue, and soccer legend Pele. Unfortunately for all involved, their creative alliance started to break apart in the mid 90's due to a power struggle initiated by Pele's attempts to work more soccer into the company's many creative endeavors. When Pele signed defenseman Alexi Lalas to star in Horse Butt Productions' film adaptation of The Canterbury Tales, it was the last straw. Guttenberg was said to have been so upset that he threw his computer monitor at Pele, who headed it back to him. The company was in shambles.

But in late 1998, Chris Lightbody, Shyam Markus, and Spencer Yaras, a rag tag team of renegade producers mounted a coup d'etat of Soviet proportions, ousting the bickering trio and reworking the company into the smooth, firm, round, glistening, well-oiled machine it is today.

Horse Butt Productions has striven over the years to bring top quality entertainment to people who like to be entertained by entertaining people. HBP presently produces festival-bound short films, music (under Horse Butt Records), and the uproarious sketch comedy show The Short Bus, now airing on www.ifilm.com. Indeed, the future looks bright for HBP.
